Hi! I’m Matt, the founder and brains behind Deep Dive Scuba.

First, let me say welcome. Deep Dive Scuba is the #1 destination for divers who want every dive to be the best dive of their life.

Here you’ll find:

  • Reviews on all the top gear in the industry
  • Travel guides
  • Training tips to help you become a better diver

A good dive requires superb planning and preparation, which starts weeks and months before you ever strap on a tank. You’ve gotta take a deep dive before you can dive deep.

But since the world is unfair and makes us work to be able to go diving, who the heck has the time to properly plan every little crucial detail?

That’s where I come in. I take a deep dive so you don’t have to, which means you can spend more time making dives and enjoying all the wonder and beauty the underwater world has to offer.

Thanks for stopping in. Please check out the site and what we have to offer. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me and let me know!

About Me (Matt)

I was bitten by the scuba diving bug in 2015 when I was peer pressured into doing a Discover Scuba Dive in Koh Tao, Thailand. I came up after 45 minutes and almost immediately signed up for an Open Water class. Now, scuba diving is my life.

Today, I am a PADI MSDT with thousands of dives all over the world. I have worked for dive shops in Marbella, Spain and in the Florida Keys, and thanks to my preparation and planning, each dive is always better than the last.

I started this site because after years working in the dive industry I realized that lots of people who dive still don’t really know what they’re doing.

They make unneccessarily risky choices, set unrealistic expecations (of themselves and dive operators), overestimate their own training, and buy equipment and gear that isn’t right for them or isn’t any good.

All of this leads to “so-so” dives, or, in some cases, dives you want to forget.

Our time underwater is too limited and too precious to waste having a bad time. And with diving being such an expensive yet addicting hobby (or in my case, profession), I wanted to see if I could put an end to this nonsense.

I built this site to help divers around the world better plan and prepare for their dives so that they can too can make each dive the best dive they’ve ever had.
